 Commodore's Newsletter - December 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

HAPPY NEW YEAR to All !!!

Current Issues:

We have elected a great team to lead us through 2015. Let’s support these members who have stepped up and volunteered to serve our wonderful club.

Commodore: Robert Templeton

Vice Commodore: Larry Garland

Purser: Dee Zasio

Yeoman: Nyla Finch

A financial audit was recently performed for calendar year 2013 and year to date 2014 by Dee Zasio. Dee reports that all was in order and Purser Joe's books are impeccable. Thank you Joe & Dee for your contributions to the CLYC.

Activities and Events

12/1- Pete & Suzi Delia: Christmas Tree / Decorations.  Once again the Delia Team delivered a beautiful Christmas Tree to represent the CLYC. The Delia's are always there to meet the needs of our club.

12/13 - Steve Oskey: Parade of Lights:  The residents of Canyon Lake really stepped up their creations for the 2014 Parade of Lights. Our community was presented with a fantastic parade that was filled with holiday spirit and beautiful floats.

For those that were unable to view the parade Bert Barbay has loaded our web page with pictures and videos of that spectacular night. Bert photographed the still pictures that we see. He did an incredible job of preserving some very special moments, e.g. Howard Hellman's grandchildren in the "Wrangler Red Jet".

I was especially pleased to see such a great number of CLYC members directly involved in the float building and also participating in the parade with your own floats. This is a meaningful measurement of what the Parade means to our club personally as well as to our community.

This project could never happen without the CLYC volunteers that come forward during the holiday season. Our volunteers perform tasks that take away  their opportunity to view the parade with its wonderful displays.

I would like to recognize and thank the following members who served the "Parade of Lights".

Holiday Harbor: Joe & Vi Henderson chaired the refreshment center and were supported by Damon Mitchum, Art & Dee Zasio, Peggy Clark and Jack & Marylyn Felix.

Green Dragon Guys: Pete Delia, Mike Lee, John Petersen, Bert Barbay, Joe Kamashian and Captain "Santa" Bob Templeton.

Judging:  John Petersen, Chair. Judges: Kathy Barbay, Randy & Sue Bonner, Jan May, Karl Schorr, Dianne Skidmore and Sally Wedehase.

Photography: Bert Barbay

Publicity: Pam Oskey

12/20 - Waterfront Home Judging: The Canyon Lake Home Owners Assn. did not request us to provide any pontoons to perform the waterfront judging.

1/16/2015 - Installation Dinner Dance: We have a very nice evening planned. Entertainment will be provided by Rob Robinson. Many of you have been entertained by Rob and have expressed your approval of our entertainment choice.

 Commodore's Newsletter - November 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Current Issues:

Our November 20th meeting is a very important meeting for us to attend. We are going to vote for our 2015 Officers and hopefully pass some needed amendments to our by-laws.

In order for the above to be accomplished we must have a quorum of membership present to vote in order to comply with our by-laws.

The board has recommended the following amendments:

Currently 4.1 reads:

4.1 Active members and officers in the “CLUB” shall be limited to owners of Canyon Lake Property and their immediate family who are in good standing with the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association.

We recommend that article 4.1 read as follows:          4.1 Active members and officers in the “CLUB” shall be limited to residents of Canyon Lake and their immediate family who are in good standing with the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association.

(Article 4.1) We recommend that we change the word "owners" to read "residents". The word "owner" restricts active membership to property owners only. It has been the past practice of our club to open our membership to all "residents" of Canyon Lake.

Currently 5.2 reads:

5.2 Officers will be elected to a term of one (1) year and will be eligible for re-election for two (2) consecutive years.

We recommend that article 5.2 read as follows:

5.2 Officers will be elected for a term of one (1) year and will be eligible for re-election.

We recommend that we change the word "to" to read "for" and drop all words following re-election.

This change will no longer restrict an officer from serving consecutive terms. (No term limits)

Nominating Committee. Chairperson John Petersen reports that the Yeoman position is still open. Please take this opportunity to volunteer for this position. Please step forward and fill this slot. Our current slate of candidates is: Commodore Bob Templeton, Vice Commodore Larry Garland and Purser Dee Zasio.

Activities and Events

10/24 - Margaritaville Picnic: Mega Thank You to Wayne and Karen Bootow for the exceptional picnic that you rolled out for your fellow members. You sure set the tone for a fun filled afternoon for us all. The games, prizes and parade were enjoyed by everyone. This unique idea of yours to have a fun time with the club was spot on.  For those who were unable to attend this great party, please visit our website to see the photographs. Not only can Wayne put on one heck of a party he is an excellent photographer. Wayne and Bert worked together to get the photos on our website.

Larry Garland once again produced a fantastic afternoon of Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley music. Larry, you are always great! Thank you for sharing your talent with our club.

12/1- Pete & Suzi Delia: Christmas Tree / Decorations. Pete will be working with the POA for a tree location and arrangements for set up. The board has authorized a budget for new decorations this year.

12/13 - Steve Oskey: Parade of Lights:  Our Float Workshop is scheduled for Saturday November 8th at 10:00 A.M.. The location is the Boardroom at the POA office. Tom and Tammy Janke past Sweepstakes and other major award winners are going to conduct the workshop this year sharing their tips and techniques to those who attend. I am already getting entries that show we will see some new and exciting floats this year.

Joe and Vi Henderson have volunteered to Lead the Holiday Harbor Kitchen this year. They will need at least six people to assist in the two shifts that cover the serving of our hot chocolate and cookies to the visitors.

John Petersen will lead the Judging this year. He too will need help so please step up when John asks for volunteers.

The POL Committee will implement new awards without distinction between boat type or origin.

The award categories are: Sweepstakes (Wow Factor), Commodore (Highest Score), Extraordinaire (Most Creative), Brilliant (Best use of lights), Spirit (Highest Holiday Spirit). There will be 2nd and 3rd place awards in the categories with the exception of the Sweepstakes and Commodore Awards. In addition to these judges award, all other participants will be given a "dash plate" award to express our appreciation for their participation.

We still need volunteers to assist in the many tasks that are ahead of us. Please advise Steve if you will be able to help

12/20 - Waterfront Home Judging: The Canyon Lake Yacht Club will not perform the Waterfront Home Judging this year. We conferred with the Canyon Lake HOA to discuss this event and how it could be handled. We did offer to provide boats if the HOA wanted to continue with the judging.

1/??/2015 - Installation Dinner Dance: We are awaiting to hear from the POA for an assigned date in January, with Friday being a first choice. Pam and I will be asking for volunteers to help with the decorating as well as other tasks.

Storekeeper: (Bert is working on our website to display pictures of our articles for sale) Kathy Barbay has the following in stock, woman's polo shirt, and white CLYC caps for sale along with the CLYC burgee's.  Commodore's Newsletter - October 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Current Issues

Nominating Committee. No one has stepped forward yet to Chair or work on this committee. This should not require more than a couple of man hours to contact club members and determine if they would like to serve on the 2015 Board. Our bylaws require us to present our candidates prior to the November 20th (3rd Thursday) meeting. Our goal is to announce the slate of candidates at our Margaritaville Picnic on Oct. 24th.

Volunteers are needed to accomplish all of the functions of our club. We especially need you now for the Nominations and Parade of Lights.

Dinner Meetings: Nick Vernaci confirmed with the Lodge that we can save $2 per plate by furnishing our own coffee. This is a convenient way to keep our costs down. We have our own coffee maker and should be able to do this. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Activities and Events

Progressive Dinner-  Thank you Kathy Barbay and Sally Wedehase for another great evening on Canyon Lake. The Progressive  Dinner was just outstanding. This special evening started as we gathered at the Lodge and boarded our respective boats. The weather was perfect as we enjoyed the cruise around the lake working our way to our first destination, Al and Marilyn Moreno's home. What great hosts. It was fun watching the team work of our members assisting the boats as they arrived and tied up to each other. Delicious Appetizers were awaiting us as we arrived. Our members took full advantage of the Moreno's hospitality and enjoyed the opportunity to visit with one another and catch up on old times. The sun started to set which was our signal to begin traversing to the next port on our journey.

Next port on our cruise through the East Bay was the home of Joe and Vicki Young. Folks, we are just spoiled. With desserts in mind we stepped off our boats and worked our way into the inviting kitchen that was prepared to satisfy our pursuit for an exceptional dessert. Our members continued to visit while enjoying the evening view of Canyon Bay. Not only did we talk but we began to sing. CLYC does have talent. The "Three Tenors" Joe Young, Larry Garland and Vlad Worotko filled the room with their great voices and led us through some golden oldies. There is no better testament to a great time as when you leave the party singing.

In addition to the Moreno's and Young's I would like to extend a much deserved appreciation to the Boat Captain Teams, Pete & Suzi Delia, Mike & Joanne Lee, Bob & Gail McCall, Tom & Ilee Muenzer, Bob Templeton & Jan May, Joe & Vicki Young, Nick & Sylvia Vernaci.

Without the boats there is no cruise. Thank you for providing your boats and skills as Captains.

10/24 - Wayne and Karen Bootow:  Margaritaville Beach Party. Please review the attached Margaritaville Flyer. There will be food, music and prizes awaiting us all. We will gather at Holiday Harbor on Friday October 24th. It was necessary to raise the price to $15 per person to cover our costs.
So far we have over 40 members signed up. Plenty of room for more members and guests. I encourage all those who are not signed up to do so and send Karen their check. We have had some great times this year at our other events and this will be super fun as well. This gives another great opportunity to enjoy our club and the amenities this wonderful community has to offer. Larry Garland is providing the music for our picnic. Please view the attached Margaritaville Picnic (fun, games and prizes) flyer. Karen has provided the agenda outlining our activities for the afternoon.  This is another terrific event to invite a guest or potential new member to our club.

12/1- Suzi Delia: Christmas Tree / Decorations. The board has authorized a budget for new decorations this year.

12/13 - Vlad Worotko: Parade of Lights:  Publicity in the Friday Flyer has commenced. Vlad will continue to promote the POL with weekly updates. The next announcement is the Float Workshop scheduled for November 8th. Vlad has secured past parade winners to assist Dennis Pitts in the workshop. We will keep you posted.

The POL Committee will implement new awards without distinction between boat type or origin.

The award categories are: Sweepstakes (Wow Factor), Commodore (Highest Score), Extraordinaire (Most Creative), Star (Best use of lights), Spirit (Highest Holiday Spirit). There will be runner up awards in the categories with the exception of the Sweepstakes Award. In addition to these judges award, all other participants will be given a "dash plate" award to express our appreciation for their participation.

We still need volunteers to assist in the many tasks that are ahead of us. Please advise Vlad if you will be able to help. A chairperson is needed for the Holiday Harbor concession.  We need to fill these spots asap. This is a great project to work together with our fellow members.

12/20 - The Canyon Lake Yacht Club will not perform the Waterfront Home Judging this year. We conferred with the Canyon Lake HOA to discuss this event and how it could be handled. We did offer to provide boats if the HOA wanted to continue with the judging.

 Commodore's Newsletter - September 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Notice: The September 25th dinner meeting has been cancelled. Any necessary business will be conducted at our September 20th Progressive Dinner.

Activities and Events

9/20- Kathy Barbay and Sally Wedehase: Progressive Dinner.  Boats are still needed. Kathy reports that we need one more boat for sure and an additional boat as well. We are at passenger capacity with the current number of boats that volunteered. If you have a boat available but do not want to drive it, we do have members who can drive your boat. This is an excellent opportunity to invite guests to visit our club. I hope that we will have enough boats to accommodate the maximum attendance. Here is a list of members who have volunteered their boats, Pete & Suzi Delia, Mike & Joanne Lee, Tom & Ileana Muenzer, Bob Templeton & Jan May, Joe & Vicki Young and Nick & Sylvia Vernaci.

We do have a location change for our appetizer stop. I was just advised by my dock company that there is a delay in the installation of my dock. So at the last minute I told Kathy Barbary that she was one home short for this fun night. She went right to work and came up with a replacement. We will now have dessert at the Young's home. Thank you Joe & Vicki for volunteering your home at this late date. You guys are great!

Kathy and Sally will be giving us an update soon on the schedule for the Progressive Dinner. Appetizers will be served at Al & Marilyn Moreno's home. Joe and Vicki Young will host the serving of desserts at their home.  Make sure you clear your calendar for another great night of food and fun.

10/24 - Wayne and Karen Bootow:  Margaritaville Beach Party. We will gather at Holiday Harbor on Friday October 24th.

12/13 - Vlad Worotko: Parade of Lights:  Publicity in the Friday Flyer will soon begin. Vlad has provided the FF with his own POL Flyer launching our parade plans.

We still need volunteers to assist in the many tasks that are ahead of us. Please advise Vlad if you will be able to help. A chairperson is needed for the Holiday Harbor concession.  We need to fill these spots sooner than later. This is a great project to work together with our fellow members.

12/20 - Tentative date for the Waterfront Home Judging. I will be working with the Canyon Lake HOA to determine the role the CLYC will perform in the judging.

Storekeeper: Kathy Barbay has the following in stock, woman's polo shirt, and white CLYC caps for sale along with the CLYC burgee's. Commodore's Newsletter - August 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Moonlight Cruise: What an evening for our Moonlight Cruise! John Petersen scheduled our evening and cruise exactly in sync with the Super Full Moon. Many club members turned out to enjoy an excellent dinner followed by a lovely evening viewing the moon while cruising this spectacular little lake. (I never have to ask myself why I moved here). I would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the following Boat Captain Teams: Wayne & Karen Bootow, Tom & Pat Englehardt, Rich & Sue Hoover, John & Candy Petersen, Bob Templeton & Jan May, Jeannette Williams and Cathy Buell, Joe and Vicki Young. A special thanks to Pete and Suzi Delia for providing your pontoon for our use.

The Captains did an outstanding job of piloting the boats and making it possible for the rest of us to kick back and visit.

Bert Barbay, thank you once again for sharing your skills as photographer extraordinaire. The pictures on our website are just great. Your photograph that was published in the Friday Flyer absolutely captured the beauty of the moment.

Thank you John and Candy Petersen. You always provide us with a very special evening when you are involved. It was just a great time for all who attended the moonlight cruise.

Activities and Events

9/20- Kathy Barbay and Sally Wedehase: Progressive Dinner.  Boat Captains are needed. Kathy reported that Tom & Pat Englehardt have volunteered their pontoon. We will need more boats and captains. Please let Kathy or Sally know if you can volunteer for this task.

We will get more updates at our next meeting.

Appetizers will be served at Al & Marilyn Moreno's home. Steve and Pam Oskey will host the serving of deserts at their home. (I hope the dock will be installed by then) More details coming soon. Make sure you clear your calendar for another great night of food and fun.

10/24 - Wayne and Karen Bootow:  Margaritaville Beach Party. The date and location are now confirmed. We will gather at Holiday Harbor on Friday October 24th. Karen has some non-conventional ideas for our attire. She will keep us informed what to expect for fun, food and entertainment.

12/1- Suzi Delia: Christmas Tree / Decorations.

12/13 - Vlad Worotko: Parade of Lights:  We are approaching the time of year that we will soon begin to roll out the process that will deliver another great parade. Vlad needs our support for this project. We need volunteers to assist in doing whatever tasks are needed. The Holiday Harbor Kitchen beverage and cookie function needs a Chairperson. This is a fun and rewarding project to be involved in. If you are considering volunteering please do so early on. Please contact Vlad and let him know you want to help.

Vlad will keep us informed on what the POL Committee needs.

12/20 - Tentative date for the Waterfront Home Judging. We need a Chairperson. Please volunteer.

Storekeeper: Kathy Barbay has the following in stock, white CLYC caps for sale along with the CLYC burgee's. She also coordinates any specific requests for CLYC shirts, blouses or any other attire of your choice. Members have been ordering shirts. Let us look CLYC sharp and contact Kathy if you would like to order CLYC  items.

Current Issue: Not so good news to report here. Nick and I were advised of the following requirements from the Lighthouse restaurant and lodge. Effective September, the Lighthouse Menu will be provided in a Tier One thru Tier 5 format.

Tier One is the least expensive menu choice and will cost approximately $16.50 per person. This menu choice is sandwich level. We currently pay $14 per person. This basic increase is about 17% more than what we have been paying. However, our current menu choices would put us in the Tier 3 to Tier 4 range on the new menu. The new cost to us would range approximately $5 or more. This represents a substantial increase of 35% to 63% per person. I have attached a spreadsheet that shows my personal analysis of these price increases. If you find any exceptions in my numbers please advise me. I think they are accurate based on the information that I received. I will also attach the Tier One thru Tier 5 Lighthouse Dinner menu that is the source of my analysis.

I am concerned that this will have a negative impact on our dinner attendance. Especially when you consider that our members who also are members of other clubs will again be faced with the same increase each time they attend that club dinner meeting.

To add more constraints they now require that all dinners must be ordered and paid for 10 days in advance. They can add up to four persons from the original commitment but no more.

One option they gave us is the ability to once again hire a licensed caterer for our dinner.

I was not given a reason for this major spike in the dinner prices. This will be an agenda item for our next meeting. Personally I do not consider this a reasonable adjustment in prices. I thought they were making a profit by serving dinners and beverages from the Bar to us. Especially when we offer a significant dinner crowd on a night that is generally not a busy night for the restaurant.

Please let me know if you have any ideas or thoughts on this current pricing and policy.

Commodore's Newsletter - July 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

The weather was absolutely perfect for a great potluck dinner that we shared at Roadrunner Park at our June meeting! The turnout was amazing. The food everyone brought was exceptional. Our members enjoyed a special evening of visiting. It provided us with a wonderful setting to honor our 2014 Scholarship Recipient Nicole Taylor and her parents Frank and Dagmar Taylor. Nicole addressed us with her college plans and her aspirations for her career. We should all take pride in our club's commitment to our youth.

A big thank you to Chairpersons, Gail McCall and Sue Bonner. You provided us with a great setting for a very special evening. Your decorations and preparations set the tone for a wonderful time. Providing music was a great idea. Thanks also to your Team Members Bob McCall, Jan May, Bonnie Carnagey and Bob Templeton for their contributions.

I would like to thank Larry Garland for providing the PA system and arranging the music for us. Your song selections set the perfect mood for this great day on the lake.  Larry has offered to furnish music for all of our future dinner meetings. We should all look forward to this kind gesture.

12/13 - Parade of Lights:  Good news here. Vlad Worotko has volunteered to Chair this event. Vlad brings a wealth of experience for the parade. He chaired the 2012 POL which was a great success. He will need a lot of support from the membership for this event.  We are still in search of a Co-Chair to cover the Holiday Harbor function of handling the cookie and beverage distribution. Please contact Vlad or Steve if you are considering volunteering for the Chairperson position at the Holiday Harbor Kitchen on parade night.

12/20 - Tentative date for the Waterfront Home Judging. We need a Chairperson. Please volunteer.

Commodore's Newsletter - June 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Congratulations to our members who volunteered their time and talents for the amazingly successful month of  May. We experienced a variety of exceptional accomplishments.

Lake Cleanup: Early May we served our community with the Lake Cleanup. Thanks again to Pete and Suzi Delia for driving this very important event. To the Mateys and Pickers who supported this event with your pontoons, food and time, a hearty thanks to you as well.

Scholarship: A special team of members led by Eileen Hultz searched through a gifted group of Canyon Lake Senior high school students to determine who would deserve our $1000 Scholarship check. This task is never easy as the "Seniors" submit some pretty amazing applications. Eileen announced that Nicole Taylor, Temescal Canyon High School, is the 2014 recipient. She has been invited to attend our next meeting. She will address our club at that time.

The Scholarship Team represented our club in the best possible manner. I would like to extend a very deep thanks to this team. You were absolutely great. Chairperson, Eileen Hultz, Committee Judges, Kathy Barbay, Cathy Barr, Pat Englehardt, Pam Oskey and Janis Rodriguez were extraordinary. On behalf of the club, we are proud of you and your diligence.

Fiesta Day: Bob Templeton and Lee Norris took charge and delivered an exceptional and memorable Fiesta Day for the CLYC. What a great and fun day for our members who participated. The day started off with the CLYC float filled with the Commodore, First Mate and past Commodores and First Mates all eager to wave and toss candy to a crowd as the parade moved through our streets.

The ice cream chest was empty after late afternoon sales surge led by the team of Garland, Garland and Bootow. Anyone who passed our both was vigorously encouraged to purchase our stock.  The Sun also came out to assist us in our effort to sell all of our remaining ice cream.

The only way to make the day better was to win the "Best Decorated Booth" contest. Yes, we took 1st place this year. The decorating team of Jan May, Kathy Barbay, Candy Petersen and Pam Oskey were fantastic. Their creativity gave us a great look that met or exceeded this year's theme of "Fiesta Day Around the World".

Much appreciation goes to the sales teams as well as to Mike and Joanne Lee for towing our pontoon float.  The pontoon was loaned to us by Randy and Judy Helton who deserve our gratitude as well.

A big thank you to Bob Ireland for photographing the CLYC activities. Bob also took a great picture of Vice Commodore Bert Barbay serving as the 2014 Fiesta Day Grand Marshall.

Activities and Events

6/26- Gail McCall and Sue Bonner: Potluck dinner meeting. This is the venue for our next meeting. Gail is passing around signup sheets for the dishes that will be served. Please show your support by contacting Gail and volunteering for her needs. This meeting will be held at Roadrunner Park and is always a fun time.

8/2 - Wayne and Karen Bootow:  Margaritaville Beach Party. We are trying to secure Indian Beach on Saturday August 2nd. Menu possibly BBQ Cheeseburgers or Chicken breast sandwiches with the membership bringing appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Games will be played. Additional information forthcoming.

8/10- John and Candy Petersen: Moonlight Cruise. In the event of a full moon viewing being obstructed by clouds, John says he has a backup plan that guarantees we will see a full moon. I did not ask him for details.

9/20- Kathy Barbay and Sally Wedehase: Progressive Dinner. No locations have been confirmed to date.

12/1- Suzi Delia: Christmas tree / Decorations.

12/13 - Parade of Lights:  Good news here: Vlad Worotko has volunteered to Chair this event. Vlad brings a wealth of experience for the parade. He chaired the 2012 POL which was a great success. He will need a lot of support from the membership for this event.  We are still in search of a Co-Chair to cover the Holiday Harbor function of handling the cookie and beverage distribution.

12/20 - Tentative date for the Waterfront Home Judging. We need a Chairperson. Please volunteer.

Storekeeper: Kathy has the following in stock, white CLYC caps for sale along with the CLYC burgee. She also coordinates any specific requests for CLYC shirts, blouses or any other attire of your choice.

 Commodore's Newsletter - May 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

A big salute to the Delia's for a very successful Lake Cleanup. Pete rolled out a very effective game plan to cover the lake. Suzi and fellow members had sandwiches, side dishes and desserts awaiting the arrival of our very hungry crews.

Thanks to the four boat captains who volunteered their pontoon boats for this exercise. Mike Lee, Bob Templeton, Pete Delia and new member Ray Rodriquez were the boat captains for this year.

PJ Anderson, Bert & Kathy Barbay, Tom & Pat Englehardt, Steve Evarts, Tink Hultz, Lee Norris and Steve Oskey were the pickers and they deserve our thanks as well.

The support members who brought food to the lunch were great. Thank you for supporting the crews with your delicious offerings.

What a great picture of our pickers on the front page of the Friday Flyer. Thank you Bert for capturing and preserving these CLYC moments.

Activities and Events

5/22- Eileen is moving along quite well in the Scholarship recipient process. All applications are in and the judges are currently reviewing and rating the applicants.

Commodore's Newsletter - April 2014

Ahoy Mateys,

Bert Barbay will make a presentation at our April meeting demonstrating how to use our new website. He will provide us with visual instruction on what information is available to us and how we can access this information. This will be very informative and will help all of us to best utilize this new tool.

Activities, Events, and other Club Stuff

The May 3rd Lake Cleanup is only a couple of weeks away. Pete or Suzi will provide us with any last minute instructions or requirements at our April meeting. Thanks again to this year's Boat Captains: Pete Delia, Mike Lee, Bob Templeton and Tom Engelhardt for volunteering their pontoons for this important event.

Pete says we have 10 crew members signed up to staff the boats. This should allow us to cover the lake in about 2 hours.   The boats will meet at Diamond Point Park at 9:00 a.m.  Pete will assign each boat with a specific route and area to maximize our cleanup effort. The captains will return to Diamond Point Park with their bagged debris at approximately 11:00 a.m. The trash bags will be left at the park for pick up by the operations department.

A post cleanup celebration and lunch will be held at Pete and Suzi Delia's home at approximately 11:30 a.m. BBQ pork sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and refreshments will be served. All CLYC members are invited to join the Captains and Crews as they relax after their early morning activity. Suzi says we have enough signups for desserts and appetizers. We do need some side dishes i.e. macaroni salad, green salad, fruit salad, bean; etc. So if you are just showing up for lunch and refreshments you are welcome to bring a side dish if you wish

5/22- Eileen and Tink Hultz will present our 2014 Scholarship winner. Eileen had volunteers sign up at the March meeting to assist determining this year's recipient.

5/24- Bob Templeton and Lee Norris: Fiesta Day.  Booth and Parade applications were submitted.  The signup sheet will be passed out in April for Ice Cream booth duty. Bob is in the process of confirming a pontoon boat for the parade.

6/26- Gail McCall and Sue Bonner: Potluck dinner meeting.

8/10- John and Candy Petersen: Moonlight Cruise.

9/20- Kathy Barbay and Sally Wedehase: Progressive Dinner

TBD- Beach Party: Wayne and Karen Bootow
